Searching for Scholarships and Affording the Balance: 9/28 Thursday at 6:30pm
There are many ways to pay for education, and one important step is to search and apply for Scholarships. More free money equals less borrowing. This presentation will review the types of options available, along with tips on applying. It will also offer samples of fun scholarship options to get you started. We’ll then review what to do about the balances that might be left over in order to make affordable higher education decisions. Join Linda Pacewicz and Daniel Wray from Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) for an hour of detailed information on this topic. PA is looking for YOUR opinion!

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is developing a new Master Plan for Older Adults to address the needs of older people and people with disabilities. The plan will address barriers in the service system and infrastructure faced by older Pennsylvanians and adults with disabilities to support improved health, well-being, and quality of life. Responses are anonymous and will be used to create a profile of the needs of older adults and adults with disabilities that will inform the Commonwealth's planning process.

Karen Sees, a native of Mount Jewett and a resident of Hamlin Township, and Samila Sosic, a well-known Bradford artist who is an art professor at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, have completed painting the mural on the west side of the Mount Jewett Memorial Library. The open books are their signature piece, similar to an open art book with a painting by Karen and a painting by Samila. The Mount Jewett Memorial Library received state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. |
